Upcycled Denim

AW24 sees again our use of upcycled denim. Working with second-hand wholesalers who turn denim trousers into shorts we rescue the trousers legs leftovers to craft new garments.

Although upcyling techniques aren’t 100% perfect and there’s waste left behind every season we try to reduce that waste by creating compliments, installations or other creative projects with the leftovers from each season.

In this occasion we’ve put together all the scraps to create un upcycled denim poncho, a traditional garment with its roots in the indigenous peoples of Latin America, a key symbol of national identity and resistance during Colombia’s independence. Its presence evokes both ancestral history and the struggle for freedom and independence.

Special thanks to Rocio Soto, Emma Tarrats and Maïa Gratiet.
